Hosted by GradSWE every semester, this series provides an opportunity to hear directly from extraordinary women from UIC's own engineering departments. Speakers share their stories and attendees are able to ask questions and gain insight into what it is like to be a woman in engineering. All are welcome to attend!

About the Speaker
Peihan Miao is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Prior to joining UIC, she was a Research Scientist at the Cryptography Group at Via Research. She received her PhD from the University of California, Berkeley in 2019 and her BS from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2014. Her research interests lie broadly on cryptography and security, especially secure multiparty computation and applied cryptography.
